After 5 losses, Delhi finally tasted victory when it defeated Kolkata at home by 4 wickets with Pandey-Akshar contributing a crucial innings after Warner

The Delhi Capitals, led by David Warner, have won the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. After suffering five consecutive defeats, this team defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets in a thrilling match.At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi won the toss and chose to bowl. Kolkata scored 127 runs in 20 overs while losing all of their wickets. The Delhi batsmen responded by scoring the required runs in 19.2 overs to win by 6 wickets. Ishant Sharma was named the match’s MVP. In four overs, he took two wickets for 19 runs.

Warner’s half-century came in 33 balls, and Pandey-Patel’s innings was also significant.

Jason Roy batted first for Kolkata in this low-scoring but exciting match, scoring 43 runs off 39 balls. Andre Russell hit an unbeaten 38 off 31 balls in the final over to take the team to 127 runs. In the 20th over, he hit three consecutive sixes off Mukesh’s ball. None of the remaining batsmen were able to take on the Delhi bowlers. For Delhi, Ishant Sharma, Enrique Nortya, Akshar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav each took two wickets.

In response, Captain David Warner (57 runs) and Prithvi Shaw got Delhi off to a fast start, but the pair were unable to score many runs, with Prithvi Shaw being dismissed for 13 off 11 balls. Following Prithvi’s dismissal, the Kolkata spinners kept their team in the game by taking wickets at a steady rate, while Warner batted from one end and reached his half-century. Varun Chakraborty made the match exciting in the middle by dismissing Warner.

Later in the slog overs, Akshar Patel scored 19 runs off 22 balls to help the team cross the finish line. Manish Pandey also scored 21 runs with the ball in this game.

For Kolkata, Varun Chakraborty, Anukul Roy, and Nitish Rana bowled well. All three players took 2-2 wickets.

Warner’s 59th half-century was scored.

David Warner, the captain of Delhi, recorded his 59th career half-century. He has now scored four half-centuries this season. In 33 balls, Warner has scored a half-century. He had a strike rate of 139.02 and scored 57 runs in 41 balls. Warner hit 11 fours in his innings.

He took the place of Abhishek Porel, and Ishant Sharma received the opportunity in place of Prithvi Shaw. Jason Roy, Litton Das, Mandeep Singh, and Kulwant Khejroliya have all received opportunities from the Kolkata Knight Riders. For the KKR, Litton, Roy, and Khejroliya made their debuts.
