On March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Karnataka to officially open the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway.

On March 10, the Prime Minister’s Office released the following statement after the PM’s visit to Mandya: “The prime minister’s aim to ensuring top-notch connectivity across the nation has been demonstrated by the speed at which infrastructure projects are being developed. The Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway will be dedicated to the country by the Prime Minister as this endeavour continues.”

The project entails widening NH 275 to six lanes through the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta-Mysuru segment. The 118 km long project’s development cost amounted to roughly 8480 crores. The journey from Bengaluru to Mysuru will take only around 75 minutes instead of about 3 hours. According to the press release, it will serve as a catalyst for socioeconomic development in the area.

The press statement highlighted the advantages of the Mysuru-Khushalnagar 4-lane motorway, saying “The Prime Minister will also lay the cornerstone for the four-lane roadway connecting Mysuru and Hushalnagar. The project, which spans 92 kilometres, would be developed for about 4130 crores. The project would be crucial in improving connection between Bengaluru and Kushalnagar and will reduce travel time from around 5 to only 2.5 hours.”

Mr. Gadkari said that this connectivity project will increase the region’s tourism potential in a different tweet.The Minister tweeted, “This ambitious project intends to improve accessibility to areas like Shrirangpatna, Coorg, Ooty, and Kerala, hence increasing their tourism potential.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Karnataka on March 12 to dedicate and lay the cornerstones for projects worth over 16,000 crores.
