CEMCA and BSDU will hold consultations with Stakeholders on a Model Curriculum for the Training of Vocational Educators

Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA) in collaboration with Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) Jaipur, is hosting a 2-day consultative meeting of important stakeholders from the vocational domain at Jaipur on 10th & 11th November 2022. This consultative meeting stems from the CEMCA initiative to develop a MOOC for vocational educators to support their teaching and training practices. As part of this initiative on 6th September CEMCA conducted a 1-day brainstorming session involving stakeholders from three different verticals viz. Schools, ITI/Polytechnic, and HEIs. To follow up on the outcome of the brainstorming session CEMCA & BSDU is hosting a 2-day consultative meeting of the key stakeholders at the BSDU Jaipur with the goal to review and validate the curriculum designed by CEMCA’s experts. High-level delegates from Skill Universities, Universities & HEIs offering skill courses, Experts from Vocational training Institutes, Policymaker working in the vocational domain, and Delegates from Industry & Supporting Ecosystem will be part of this two-day deliberation.

Speaking on behalf of the organizer Prof. Shadrach, Director of CEMCA, emphasizes that there is demand for taking such courses to the tens and thousands of vocational trainers, especially towards building their capacity in technology-enabled teaching and learning practices and in training methodologies. Dr. Rajdeep Deb, Principal School of Entrepreneurship Skills, BSDU Jaipur said almost all stakeholders representing the skill ecosystem of the country will be participating in the two days of important consultation and we’re expecting to co-construct and implement this intervention model for vocational educators with them.
