Why does India only save people in ports?

People are brought to the first port in the majority of the Sudanese rescue operations, and from there they are transported by ships to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

The European Union’s ambassador to the Gulf and North African nations, James Moran, told Al Jazeera that while getting people out of an airport safely is the most crucial aspect, the airport in Khartoum is in no way safe.

The only escape route from there in such a scenario is via the sea. Despite the port’s distance from Khartoum City, people are being transported there for this. There is no other way to save our people, so this is a very dangerous job.

Learn the six reasons for the violence in Sudan.

In Sudan, the military and the paramilitary are engaged in a power struggle. First, in 2019, protests were held to demand the resignation of Omar al-Bashir, the Sudan’s president at the time.

Then, in a coup in April 2019, the military overthrew the president, but following that, the populace began calling for democratic rule and a say in politics.

Following this, Sudan established a joint government in which the nation’s military and civilian population participated. In 2021, there was another coup, and military rule in Sudan was instituted.

The country’s President is now Army Chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, with RSF leader Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo serving as Vice President. The RSF and army have been engaged in battle ever since.
