President Droupadi Murmu has received letters from several teachers at the Delhi University College of Vocational Studies alleging “massive corruption” at the institution.

The college’s principal, Inderjeet Dagar, and the chairman of the governing body, Professor Sangeet Ragi, are allegedly “working together to cover up acts of financial corruption,” according to the teachers’ letter, which demands action against them.

The teachers also asserted in the letter that Sangeet Ragi had ended the investigation into Principal Inderjeet Dagar, who was being investigated for allegedly misusing library funds on a large scale.

Under the leadership of Professor B C Tripathy, the governing body requested an investigation into the situation. The teachers asserted that a committee was established with retired Justice Dhingra as its chairman, and that in his report, the committee recommended exemplary punishment for the principal and other defendants.

Inderjeet Dagar was placed on unpaid leave to carry out a final investigation on January 7 of last year. After Rajan Chopra’s term as chairman of the college’s governing body expired on March 3, Professor Sangeet Ragi took over.

“Ragi made every effort to reinstate and rehabilitate Dr. Inderjeet Dagar, the principal who was on leave. Dr. Dagar has not yet received a charge sheet from him.”

The letter stated, “On the basis of a ‘legal opinion’ prepared by a lawyer appointed by Prof. Ragi himself, he reinstated Dr. Inderjeet Dagar on the pretext that ‘forced leave’ is not a requirement of service rules.

“The undersigned demand that Dr. Dagar be held accountable and that Dr. Ragi be fired for conspiring with Dr. Dagar to hide instances of financial corruption. The tenure of Professor Ragi ended on March 3rd, but he will be holding a meeting on March 13 to discuss the appointments of 110 teachers “It was ad.

Sangeet Ragi, in response to the allegations, stated, “These are false allegations made by teachers who are more interested in activism than in teaching. The investigation is still in progress. I have requested that the lawyer prepare a charge sheet.” In response to allegations that he and Inderjeet Dagar are working together, Sangeet Ragi stated, “He is not a relative of mine. Yogesh Singh, the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University, reinstated him, not me.”
