EA Sports FC 24 Revealed: Release Date, Ultimate Team Women’s Football, and More

On September 29, EA Sports FC 24 will go on sale for the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch

The release date for the newly rebranded football simulation game series, EA Sports FC 24, is September 29. The time coincides with leaks from the previous week, which suggested that the game would be made available to those who pre-order the Ultimate Edition seven days earlier, on September 22, in early access. Erling Haaland, a player for Manchester City F.C., made a surprise appearance at EA’s international event in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, to announce himself as the game’s cover star. Naturally, the CEO of Electronic Arts, Andrew Wilson, was there to speak for a considerable amount of time about his passion for football without once accidentally saying “FIFA.”

In some ways, FC24 is the same FIFA game you’ve been playing for years, but with new branding and a couple of unique features to the franchise. First and foremost, EA Sports will expand the presence of women’s football in the game by introducing it to the Ultimate Team mode for the first time. According to the trailer, the division will not be separated as men’s or women’s FUT, but rather combine the two so that either gender can be on the same team and on the same pitch.

Due to the inclusion of two new women’s leagues, Liga F and Frauen-Bundesliga, the top women’s leagues in Spain and Germany, respectively, it appears that the studio will continue the trend started with FIFA 23’s inclusion of the National Women’s Soccer League.

To keep FC24 as accurate to the real sport as possible, EA Sports has agreements with numerous football leagues. As a result, FC24 now features hundreds of stadiums, over 19,000 players, and more than 30 legitimate leagues, including the Premier League, La Liga, and UEFA Champions League. For those who are unaware, EA Sports dropped the FIFA name due to a financial dispute with the football federation, which reportedly demanded a payment of $1 billion (roughly Rs. 8,216 crore) every four years. When Electronic Arts eventually pulled out of the deal, CEO Wilson asserted that the only benefit it ever received from the FIFA deal was the “four letters on the box.”

The game’s foundation is an improved version of the Frostbite Engine, which features smoother animations and redesigned player models. HyperMotionV adds realism to the game by capturing volumetric data from over 180 professional men’s and women’s football matches in order to deliver realistic movement. Meanwhile, PlayStyles goes beyond overall player ratings to highlight the on-field abilities that are said to distinguish players. Each PlayStyle provides players with distinct abilities that you will notice and feel, allowing them to play in a more ‘authentic’ manner. Ultimate Team Evolutions were also introduced by the company, allowing you to upgrade players throughout the season based on individual objectives, granting additional stat boosts and skills.

Pre-order EA Sports FC 24

The EA Sports FC 24 Standard Edition is now available for pre-order, and includes a cover star loan player item, a male and female ambassador loan item, Player Career Personality Points, and a 5-star coach for the manager mode. All of the above bonuses are included in the Ultimate Edition, as well as seven days of early access, 4,600 FIFA Points, a UCL Ultimate Team Hero, and a Team of the Week 1 player.
