The question paper will be given in 13 regional languages in addition to Hindi and English, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri, and Konkani.

The announcement comes days after Shah was urged by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin in a letter to include Tamil as a language for the written exam when hiring individuals for the CRPF.

Stalin claimed in his letter that the written exam for the CRPF recruitment was advertised as being available in Hindi and English.

The decision, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, will lead to thousands of applicants taking the test in their native tongue or a regional language, improving their chances of being selected.

According to the statement, an addendum to the current Memorandum of Understanding between the ministry and the Staff Selection Commission will be signed to enable the administration of the exam in various Indian languages.
