Mumbai, Nov. 23 (IANS) TV actress Niharika Chouksey, who plays the lead in the new series “Faltu,” revealed that she got inspiration for her character from cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur.

The Indian National Women’s Cricket Team is captained by all-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur. Among her many accomplishments, she made history in November 2018 by becoming the first Indian woman to score a century in Women’s Twenty 20 International.

The “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai” actress talked about how she was inspired for her role by cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur.

She uttered: “I didn’t learn how to play cricket growing up, but I had to learn the fundamentals for this job. And Harmanpreet Kaur served as my inspiration during that challenging period of starting from scratch in my training. I adore how she has forged new paths and hit significant milestones in her career.”

Niharika has appeared in movies including “Jahaan Chaar Yaar,” in which she played the role of Swara Bhasker’s daughter, and “Janhit Mein Jaari,” in which she portrayed Nushrratt Bharuccha’s sister.

She is now starring in “Faltu,” a movie about rural people’s attitudes toward girls and how sometimes they end up giving them names like “Faltu” because they think the next child will be a boy.

She continued, saying the talented cricketer impressed her: “She conducts herself with integrity, and I admire how bravely she supports her team. I adore her because of her fearless attitude and self-assured demeanour.”

Star Plus is where “Faltu” airs.
