Gehlot announces names for Rajasthan Ratna Award

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held a press conference for the Invest Rajasthan Summit 2022 at the CM residence. Apart from Industries and Commerce Minister Shanktala Rawat, Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Industries Vinu Gupta, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Kuldeep Ranka, Secretary Chief Minister Gaurav Goyal, BIP Commissioner Om Kasera and other senior officers were also present on the occasion. It is noteworthy that the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has been appointed as the National Partner for organizing the Invest Rajasthan Summit, which is providing support to the state government for organizing the summit.

The Chief Minister announced the winners of Rajasthan Ratna Award on this occasion. He informed that this year’s Rajasthan Ratna Award will be given to Justice Dalbir Bhandari, Justice RM Lodha, Industrialist Anil Agarwal, Industrialist LN Mittal, Sheen Kauf Nizam and KC Malu. The Chief Minister informed that road shows were organized at international, national and state level between November 2021 to September 2022, months before the Rajasthan Summit. 4,192 MoUs/LOIs worth Rs 10.44 lakh crore were signed by the state government. Out of 4,192 MoUs/LOIs, a total of 1680 MoUs/LoIs are under implementation or in the implementation stage, which is about 40 per cent. The foundation stone and inauguration of some of the major MoUs/LoIs will be done in the inaugural session of Invest Rajasthan Summit on 7th October.

The Chief Minister further said, the objective of this summit is to attract new investments by giving wide publicity to the investment opportunities available in various investment sectors in Rajasthan. Along with new investment, employment generation and establishing the state as an industrial destination is also its main objective. He further said that Invest Rajasthan Summit 2022 will be a two-day event, in which the inaugural session will be held on the first day on October 7 in the presence of several dignitaries.

After the inaugural session, parallel sectoral conclaves on NRR, Tourism, Startup, Future Ready Sector, Agri Business will be organized. He further said, in parallel sectoral sessions, eminent persons belonging to that sector have been invited as speakers. Each session organized under the summit will be different in itself, which will reflect the image of a developed Rajasthan. MSME Conclave will be organized on 8th October, under which MSME sector will be further developed and new investment possibilities available in this sector will be discussed.

The Chief Minister also told that many industrialists from the country and abroad will come to participate. These include LN Mittal (RcelorMittal Group), Gautam Adani, Chairman (Adani Group), CK Birla (CK Birla Group), Puneet Chatwal (Indian Hotels Company), Dr Praveer Sinha (Tata Power Company Limited), Kamal Bali (Bolyo Group). , Ajay Shriram (DCM Shriram), Anil Agarwal (Vedanta Group), B Santhanam (St. Gobain) and Sanjeev Puri (ITC) are some of the prominent names.

Before the conclusion of the press conference, the Chief Minister said, the energy sector has emerged as the main sector with 57 percent participation in the proposed investment in the implementation phases of MoUs/LoIs. In addition, chemicals and petrochemicals account for 18.2 percent, textiles 9.5 percent, petroleum and gas 5.9 percent, cement 4.6 percent and textiles 3.4 percent.
