The Bharatiya Janata Party can field more seats in the Gujarat Assembly elections to woo North Indians. Party functionaries have been asked to assess the ground situation to identify the winning faces of the North Indian community in seats with a majority of North Indians. This will help the party win 20 to 25 seats in South Gujarat, as well as a lead in the other 50 seats. This is also being considered as a strategy to weaken the hold of the Aam Aadmi Party in Gujarat, because with the help of this vote bank, Arvind Kejriwal was successful in breaking the BJP stronghold Surat.

In fact, like Maharashtra, Gujarat also has a large population of North Indians who migrated from UP, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. According to an estimate, their number can be more than 30 lakhs. They are in a position to single-handedly decide the result of 25 seats in South Gujarat. Bharuch, Balsad, Vapi, Navsari, Ankleshwar, Surat are the industrial cities. Chauryasi, Udhna and Limbayat Vidhan Sabha of Surat are in this area where PM Narendra Modi had addressed a large public meeting in the past. Most of the North Indians who came in search of work from other states have settled in these areas and have become voters there.

Apart from this, their number is between ten thousand to 20 thousand in different assembly seats of North Gujarat, Central Gujarat and other areas. Together with the voters of other communities, they prove to be helpful in bringing any party to victory. This is the reason that no political party can plan the conquest of Gujarat by ignoring the North Indians.

Kejriwal had made this vote bank
In the Surat Municipal Corporation elections, the Aam Aadmi Party was successful in connecting these North Indians with itself, due to which it had registered success in 27 seats in the BJP stronghold. Arvind Kejriwal has just started working on the strategy of engaging North Indians in Ahmedabad by giving a ticket to a North Indian face, and is planning to field a North Indian in Surat by looking at a BJP candidate.

It is believed that if BJP does not give adequate representation to North Indians in Surat this time, Kejriwal may repeat the story of Municipal Corporation again. Aam Aadmi Party leaders are constantly trying to connect them by holding meetings among these voters. Efforts are being made to connect the workers of North Indian workers, auto drivers, diamond artisans and people from other communities with them.

Kejriwal has also given a clear signal to this community by giving the important responsibility of the post of in-charge to North Indian face Gulab Yadav. Seeing Kejriwal’s strategy, BJP’s ears have stood up and it is making a strategy to thwart Kejriwal’s bet by putting up the right face.
big face didn’t emerge

North Indians have long complained that they have been voters of the Bharatiya Janata Party for a long time. From Gujarat to UP-Bihar, he has been playing an important role in giving a massive victory to the BJP, but even after this he was not given enough respect. On the other hand, Marathi community is given more tickets in the name of provincials, while it does not have any big face in the name of North Indians.

The names of North Indian faces in the BJP are dominated by Minister Rajendra Trivedi and MLA Madhu Srivastava, but these leaders themselves do not identify as North Indians. So their problems go unheard. But to handle the deepening discontent among North Indians from the grassroots level, the party has planned to give opportunities to new faces. These include the names of Amit Singh Rajput, Manoj Shukla, Yajuvendra Dubey, Dayashankar Singh, Rajendra Upadhyay and Girijashankar Mishra. The fate of these leaders can open in the changed strategy of the party.

Expectations from the Organization Minister
The BJP has given the responsibility to Ratnakar as the organization minister to handle the North Indian voters. According to information received from sources, since assuming the new post, he has been holding frequent meetings among the North Indian voters and trying to connect them with the party.
