Hurricane Eunice has caused havoc in Britain. Many trees fell due to the storm. Strong winds blew from Eunice, causing damage to buildings and homes. At least nine people have died in these incidents. Several others have been taken to hospital. Eunice is the second hurricane to hit Europe in two days. Earlier Hurricane Dudley had hit Britain. Hurricane Eunice has also killed five people in Germany and Poland.
Red alert declared
In view of the storm, the UK Meteorological Department had declared a red alert on Friday, issuing a warning of a major storm. The Meteorological Department said that due to this severe storm, strong winds will blow across northern Europe.

The speed of this storm has been recorded at 90 mph in Germany and 122 mph in England.
Power cuts, flight cancellations and schools closed
Hurricane Eunice has affected millions of people in Europe. According to the Met Office, about 200,000 homes in the UK have been hit by power outages due to high wind speeds. Here the roof of London’s Indoor Stadium O2 Arena has blown off due to strong winds.
Many tourist places in England including London, Legoland Warwick Castle have been closed due to the storm. The storm severely affected air and road traffic in southern England and Wales. Due to the threat of storm, all flights from London Airport have been canceled. Wind gusts at some British airports caused problems for planes to take off. The pilots also faced difficulties in landing. According to the information, 436 flights have been canceled. Along with this, trains have also been cancelled.
According to the Meteorological Department, Hurricane ‘Eunice’ has increased in the Atlantic Ocean. The storm hit the coast in Cornwall, western England. This caused tremendous waves in the sea. The roofs of hundreds of huts were also damaged.
