Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, was released from custody on Saturday morning and made his way back to his home in Lahore’s Zaman Park

He revealed that the Inspector General of the Islamabad police made significant efforts to stop him from departing for Lahore throughout his journey.

Imran Khan, the former Pakistani prime minister, departed the courthouse for his mansion in Lahore’s Zaman Park after receiving bail from the Islamabad high court in various cases. After being held for two days, the PTI leader departed the grounds of the Islamabad High Court in the early hours of Saturday,

He was met by PTI fans all the way to Lahore. After a turbulent period, Imran Khan returned home by taking a road route to his Lahore abode. In a case involving corruption, the Islamabad High Court granted him protective bail for two weeks. Until Monday, the government is not allowed to detain the former Pakistani prime minister.

Imran Khan declared, “By the grace of God, we are on our way to Lahore,” as he travelled to the city. I was blocked for three hours as the IG of Islamabad made every effort to stop me in Islamabad. He released me after I threatened to inform Pakistan as a whole that you had abducted me.

Khan said, “We succeeded to win our release by convincing him that we would alert the entire Pakistani country about his crime of kidnapping and forcibly detaining us. He said, “Under pressure, he eventually allowed our departure. Imran Khan had stayed inside for hours after being granted bail, claiming security personnel were preventing him from leaving.

Khan was given bail in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case, nevertheless, and the court instructed police not to detain Khan until May 17 in any new case. Additionally, he was granted bail in the Zille Shah murder case until May 22, while a different bench postponed his arrest in three terrorism investigations until May 15.

Khan praised the court’s decision and asserted that Pakistan’s sole defence against the “law of the jungle” was the legal system. The judiciary, he said to reporters outside the court, “must say I expected this from our judiciary, because the only hope now left – the only thin line between a banana republic and a democracy is the judiciary.”

Violent altercations resulted from Imran Khan’s detention last week in the Al-Qadir Trust case outside the Islamabad courthouse, although the Pakistani Supreme Court later ruled that the arrest was unconstitutional.

Hours after Khan threatened widespread disruption if he was jailed again, the IHC decided to grant him a two-week respite.
