The second T20 between India and South Africa was high-scoring. Both the teams together scored 458 runs in 40 overs. Batting first, India scored 237 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. In reply, South Africa’s team could score 221 runs losing three wickets in 20 overs. Many records were made and broken in this match. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav made records in the first innings. Then while chasing the runs, South African players also made a flurry of records.

David Miller scored his second century of T20 International career. He played an unbeaten innings of 106 runs in 47 balls. Miller hit eight fours and seven sixes in his innings. This is only the second time in T20 Internationals that a batsman has remained unbeaten on a century while chasing runs and his team has lost. Before Miller, this happened with KL Rahul in 2016. Then India’s match was against West Indies at Lauderhill. While chasing, Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 110 runs, but Team India was defeated.

Miller shared an unbeaten 174-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Quinton de Kock. This is the highest partnership for any wicket in T20Is against India. Both of them broke the record of Pakistani pair Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Babar-Rizwan played an unbeaten 152-run partnership for the first wicket in the T20 World Cup last year.

The unbeaten 174-run partnership between Miller and de Kock is the highest partnership for the fourth and second wicket in T20 Internationals. At the same time, Miller became the first batsman in the world to score two or more centuries while batting fifth or below. He had earlier played an unbeaten innings of 101 runs in 36 balls against Bangladesh in Potchefstroom in 2017.

Both the teams looted a lot of runs in the death overs.
India and South Africa together conceded 160 runs in the death overs i.e. 16 to 20 overs. While South Africa conceded 78 runs in the last five overs in Guwahati, India spent 82 runs in the 16th to 20th overs. This is the most runs scored in death overs in T20 Internationals by both teams combined. Earlier this record was in the name of Pakistan vs Australia match. In the 2010 match at Gros Islet, Pakistan and Australia together conceded 148 runs in the death overs.

Arshdeep Singh made this bad record
For India, young left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh conceded 62 runs in four overs. He gave away runs at an economy of 15.50. This is the second most expensive bowling spell from India in T20 Internationals. Only Yuzvendra Chahal is ahead of him. Chahal had conceded 64 runs in Centurion in 2018. Arshdeep spent 26 runs in the 19th over in the Guwahati T20. However, Arshdeep also got two wickets.

South Africa’s first bilateral series loss
South Africa have lost the series by losing the match by 16 runs. This is the last T20I series for both the teams before the T20 World Cup starting this month in Australia. For the South African team, this is only the second series loss in the last seven bilateral series in all three formats. At the same time, this is the 10th bilateral series win in all three formats under the leadership of Rohit Sharma after becoming the regular captain. Now the last match of the T20 series between India and South Africa will be played on Tuesday at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
