On January 21 and 22, the Madras Dyslexia Association (MDA) will host the National Symposium 2023 on the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

The symposium, which is open to anyone interested in effectively supporting children with dyslexia, aims to concentrate on best practices in the intervention for kids with specific learning disabilities.
According to a statement from IIT Madras, the symposium aims to highlight an intervention strategy for special-needs kids that is based on need and has multiple facets. In order for children with dyslexia to internalize, practice, and adopt coping mechanisms, the statement continued, this method is crucial.
D Chandrasekhar, a first-generation entrepreneur and member of the 1970 batch of BTech (Metallurgical and Material Engineering) at IIT Madras, founded the Madras Dyslexia Association. In 2009, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras presented him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award.
Mr. Chandrashekar, President of the MDA, emphasized the significance of the National Symposium 2023 by saying: “As the MDA celebrates our 30 years of service to children with dyslexia and their stakeholders, we are glad to bring the experts to the people to share the best practices to facilitate optimal intervention.” Children who have dyslexia are endowed with a variety of strengths and are capable of succeeding in a variety of endeavors. Together, let’s make it possible for them to grow into useful people.

Experts with hands-on experience in the field have been invited to speak at the symposium to help attendees understand the influencing factors, challenges, and solutions. Geetha Santha Ram, director of the Singapore Dyslexia Association’s assessment services, English language, and literacy division, and staff professional development division, will deliver the keynote address. Doctors, occupational therapists, and experts in the fields of play, parenting, and emotional wellness will be among the speakers at the event.
