Actress and MP Jaya Bachchan has voiced her opinion on the issue following political analyst Mithun Vijay Kumar’s legal notice to streaming service Netflix over an episode of The Big Bang Theory that he alleges contains a “derogatory phrase” for actor Madhuri Dixit. Actor Kunal Nayyar can be seen equating Madhuri with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the episode. The episode debuted on television in 2008.

Actor turned politician Jaya Bachchan also reacted to the offensive statement in the show that contrasted two top-tier Bollywood actresses after political analyst Mithun Vijay Kumar issued a legal letter to the streaming giant. The first episode of The Big Bang Theory’s second season compares Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Madhuri Dixit.

Aishwarya was referred to as “a poor man’s Madhuri Dixit” by Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons, in the scene. Aishwarya Rai is a goddess, in contrast to Madhuri Dixit, who is a leprous prostitute, stated Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj Koothrapalli, in response.

They made an effort to make it humorous, but Indians objected. For one of the Big Bang Theory episodes, Mithun Vijay Kumar sent Netflix a legal notice. Kunal Nayyar was criticised by Jaya Bachchan as well, who stated that “he has to be transferred to a mental institution.” The mother-in-law of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, is not pleased with the remarks made about her son’s wife and contemporary actress Madhuri Dixit.
