Jaipur: After the Center informed the state, testing facilities for COVID have marginally increased in Rajasthan amid worries over a spike in cases in some countries.

101 people tested positive for COVID in 10 days (Dec. 18–28), and 49,520 samples were taken during that time. This comes out to be 0.2% positive negligent cases within this time.
The health department’s daily sample testing has climbed from 3,000 to 5,000 to 7,000 to 8,000 samples.

The health department’s daily sample testing has climbed from 3,000 to 5,000 to 7,000 to 8,000 samples.
A senior official with the health department stated, “We have issued directives to the officials around the state to increase collecting of samples for testing.”

Doctors all around the state have been instructed by the health department to sample patients who present to hospitals with symptoms of influenza-like illness (ILI). The patients are being clinically examined by doctors, who are also having them tested for Covid.

The number of Covid cases has not increased despite increased sampling.
Officials stated that despite the relatively low positive rate, they have increased surveillance procedures to monitor the state’s Covid issue.

The official claimed that they have the capacity to test more than 1 lakh samples every day and that they will further boost sampling when more testing is necessary.

To keep an eye on the variations and sub-variants of Covid circulating in the state and to track new sub-variant early, in case it enters the state, samples of the people who are getting tested positive for Covid are being given to SMS Hospital’s microbiology department for genome sequencing. In the mock drill held two days earlier, the health department examined its tools, medications, and other resources utilized for Covid management and treatment.
