Mumbai: There is good news for the jawans of Maharashtra Police, as the Eknath Shinde government has taken a big decision, which can make their dream home a reality. According to news agency PTI, the new Eknath Shinde government of Maharashtra has decided to restart the scheme for which the State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation will act as the nodal agency. This was informed in a government statement released on Tuesday. Not only this, the Shinde cabinet also approved a revised proposal of Rs 9,279.06 crore to expedite the first phase of the Nagpur Metro project. The state government has sanctioned an interest free loan of Rs 622 crore for the Nagpur Metro Phase-I project and also approved the land transfer proposal, the statement said. (Credenttv.com)

Apart from this, the Shinde cabinet has also approved the pending project to transport Krishna river water to Marathwada by passing Rs 11,726.91 crore. This will benefit 33,945 hectares of land for irrigation in eight districts, the statement said. The construction of a tunnel connecting the two rivers has also been included under the Krishna Bhima River Stabilization Project.

At the same time, on Tuesday itself, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had said that the state government would start 700 ‘Aapla Dawakhana’ (health clinics) in the name of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. In a statement, the Chief Minister said that strengthening the health sector infrastructure is the top priority of his government and the budget for the health sector will be doubled. According to the statement, the purpose of starting Aapla Dispensary is to provide health facilities to the people near their homes. Around 700 such clinics will be started in the state and Mumbai alone will have 227 such clinics out of which 50 have started functioning from October 2.
