MARKET LIVE: Sensex extends slide, down 500 pts; Nifty50 below 17,000

The Indian market has started with a fall on Thursday. Sensex is trading down by 150 points, while Nifty is also showing a decline of 30 points. At present, the Sensex is trading at a level of 57.468.64 points with a fall of 131.03 points, while the Nifty is trading at 17,081.25 points down by 26.26 points.
The Dow Jones slipped 250 points to close below 30 points before the US inflation data. The Nasdaq fell 0.09 percent. While the S&P 500 lost 0.33 percent. SGX Nifty is also showing a decline of 40 points. It is currently trading at the level of 17063 points.
Crude oil prices fell by up to 2.2 percent after OPEC+ countries cut demand forecast. US Treasury yields remained unchanged at a 2-year high of 4.30 per cent. On the other hand, Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) have sold Rs 542 crore in the market on Wednesday, while DIIS has bought Rs 85 crore.
Wipro-HDFC weak, Hindalco-HCL Tech strong
While shares of companies like Wipro, HDFC, TCS, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, HDFC Life and ONGC are trading with weakness in early trade on Thursday, Hindalco, HCL Tech, Eicher Motors, M&M, Dr Reddy and NTPC Shares of such companies are trading strongly.
