Maruti Suzuki Jimny receives over 15,000 reservations

The Jimny five-door is scheduled to start selling in May 2023 at Maruti’s upscale Nexa dealerships. With a total of four variations, Maruti Suzuki will probably prioritize producing the more expensive Alpha model.

A 1.5-liter, 105-hp petrol engine with a conventional 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed torque-converter automatic transmission powers the Jimny five-door. Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a manual transfer case and a low-range transmission with “2WD-high,” “4WD-high,” and “4WD-low” modes is Jimny’s off-road setup. Also supporting the Jimny is a sturdy ladder-frame chassis.

The Jimny is only offered in Zeta and Alpha trim levels, with the latter receiving extras like auto headlights, the SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, and an Arkayms sound system. However, Maruti Suzuki comes standard with a number of safety features like hill-hold assistance and six airbags. A thorough feature breakdown is available here.
