In Europe, the cost of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is EUR 899.99.

On Tuesday, Motorola Edge 40 Pro was introduced in Europe. (April 4). The Motorola Edge 30 Pro, which made its debut last year, is replaced by the new Edge series smartphone. The triple rear camera system on the Motorola Edge 40 Pro is powered by a 50-megapixel primary sensor and operates at 165Hz. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage power the device. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro supports 125W fast charging and has a water-resistant design. It is said to provide up to 30 hours of standby time on a single charge and is powered by a 4,600mAh battery.

Price and accessibility of the Motorola Edge 40 Pro

The only Motorola Edge 40 Pro model with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage is priced at EUR 899.99 (roughly Rs. 80,500). The phone will be sold in Europe in the upcoming week and is available in Interstellar Black and Lunar Blue colour options. Additionally, it is confirmed that it will go on sale in a few Latin American markets over the coming weeks.

There are still some unknowns regarding the Motorola Edge 40 Pro’s launch in India. Recall that the sole 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant of the Motorola Edge 30 Pro was priced at Rs. 49,999 when it was introduced in India in February of last year.

Specifications for the Motorola Edge 40 Pro

The 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) pOLED display on the dual-SIM (eSIM+physical SIM) Motorola Edge 40 Pro, which runs Android 13, has a 20:9 aspect ratio, 165Hz refresh rate, 394ppi pixel density, and DCI-P3 colour space. Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and a 360Hz touch sampling rate are all supported by the display. A 3D curved Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with an anti-fingerprint coating guards the display and the back panel. The flagship-level Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM power the new Motorola smartphone.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a triple rear camera system with optic image stabilization, omnidirectional phase-detection autofocus (PDAF), and a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens. (OIS). A 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 12-megapixel portrait sensor are also part of the camera setup. The rear camera system can record 8K video at 30 frames per second. Additionally, it supports full-HD video recording in slow motion at a frame rate of up to 120 fps. Various photography modes, including Night Vision, Timelapse, Super Slow motion, and Portrait, have been added by Motorola. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a front-facing 60-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.2 lens for taking selfies and participating in video chats.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro comes with 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The device offers 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS/ A-GPS, LTEPP, SUPL, Glonass, Galileo, NFC, and a USB Type-C port as connectivity options. An accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, SAR sensor, and proximity sensor are among the sensors on board. Both a face unlock feature and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor are present. It includes ThinkShield for high-tech mobile security, and Moto Secure adds all the settings for security and privacy in a single app.

Dolby Atmos-tuned dual stereo speakers are included with the Motorola Edge 40 Pro. In addition, it has four microphones and a waterproof design with an IP68 rating.

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a 4,600mAh battery that supports 15W wireless charging and 125W TurboPower fast wired charging. (sold separately). Additionally, 5W wireless power sharing is supported. The battery can be fully charged using the charging technology in just 23 minutes. The battery is also advertised as having a standby time of up to 30 hours on a single charge. Additionally, it weighs 199 grammes and has dimensions of 161.16 x 74 x 8.59mm.
