Hindu mythology states that Chaitra Navratri signifies the creation of the universe and the beginning of the world and beings. Goddess Durga was assigned the task of creating the world and thus, this festival is also considered to be the beginning of the Hindu year by many. As the stories go, people worship this deity to attain inner peace, good health and strength to fight evil. This day holds special significance for DAV since Swami Dayanand Saraswatiji established the Arya Samaj in April 1875 on this auspicious day, with the motto Krinvanto Vishvam Aryam (Make this world noble).

On this auspicious occasion, hawan yajna, bhajans etc. were performed. School Principal Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma in his message appealed to celebrate the new year with great enthusiasm, adopting the great values of Indian culture. He said that in order to stop the blind imitation of western culture, it is necessary that we convey the importance of our culture and its great values to our students.
