The school was founded on 9th April 2001 by the chairman sir Saurabh Modi, with Mrs. K. Khanna as the Principal and Mrs. Indu Dubey as the vice principal. Since then it has nurtured and expanded under their utmost care. The seed of 800 students has now grown into a tree of 3000 students and 300 faculties.

When the school started there were classes only till 7 but with each year a new class was added and slowly the school grew till in2006 our first batch graduated. Since the very first batch of 12, the students have been provided a free choice to choose their subjects from more than 20 options. Since then there has been no looking back. There has been something new in the store for students every year to make them comfortable and make school a happy place.

In 2002 a facility of afternoon meal was provided for students who reached home late and so had to miss out on their lunch. This facility was further extended as hostel and day boarding in 2008. NMS hostel block encompasses 2 separate wings one for Boys and Girls. Each wing has spacious and well lit air conditioned bed rooms with study. Every room can accommodate 4 students each & is provided with attached washrooms. A recreation hall facilitated with TV, music system, board games, reading materials and an IT Room is central to each wing. Every alternate Sunday the boarders are taken for outings and picnics. This helped not only students from other states to study here but also students from out of India also.

For exposure of students on an international level, IGSCE and IB boards were started in 2009 and 2012 respectively. In IGCSE the school offers Check Point Examinations for Middle school students; the Secondary level students pursue International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) which is equivalent to British ‘O’ Level. This is followed at the plus 2 stage with ‘AS’ and ‘A’ Levels.

For competitions like NTSE, IITJEE & AIEEE the school started its own Accelerated Program which focuses on competitive exams along with CBSE in 2010. It has given some very good results like AIR-48 Kshitij Singh in IIT JEE 2011 and AIR-454 Sanidhya Gupta in 2012 along with numerous ntse scholars and kvpy fellows. This programmed helped students to study science maths of good level without coaching in school only.

With numerable awards & trophies adoring the principal’s room, the sports have a special place of its own in the school. The school has five fields and a 400 meter track with courts for Tennis, Basket Ball, Volleyball, Boxing and nets for Cricket and Squash. the Neerja Modi school Cricket Academy had the proud privilege to host the ICC Practice Matches between Team India and Team Pakistan. Team Rajasthan royals have also been here for the practice matches before IPL. Besides archery and horse riding is also there for boarders and interested day scholars in the after school hours. Swimming is added as a period twice a week for whole of the school.

For all the students at Neerja Modi School music is an integral part of the curriculum. An assembly, choral and instrumental offers performance opportunities to students, whatever their level of expertise. There is exceptionally strong professional support for every kind of musical endeavor, whether it is music theory classes, classical singing groups, and work in the Electronic Music Studio, Drumming, Tabla or just taking lessons on one of the multitude of instruments taught on the campus. The school offers students the options of guitar, drums, violin, synthesizer, tabla, harmonium, sitar and flute. Classical music and dance (classical and western) both are taught.The school also holds an art gallery every year for all lovers of art. it invites and hosts the works of some very well known artists like Achuthan Kudallur,G R Iranna and many others coming here giving students and parents a chance to interact with them and see their beautiful works.

The school is a non profit organization. Its testimony is the project which Neerja Modi School (Shri Modi Shikshan Sansthan) has started called ‘Nischay’ to provide education to girls below the poverty line. Nischay at present has strength of 500 students who are given free education and a nutritious mid-day meal. The school is located within the campus of Neerja Modi School. The girls attending school are provided free transportation. Basic knowledge of health and hygienic is also provided as most of them live in the slum area. Activities like art and music are also conducted to help foster appreciation for nature as well as enhance the fun element with colors.NISCHAY encourages the first generation learners to step beyond the underprivileged backgrounds to the forefront of the many educational and vocational opportunities available today.
