35.7 Lakh Positions Listed on National Career Service (NCS) Portal for 2022–2023

Online access to NCS services is available, and the Prime Minister dedicated it to the country in 2015. According to the Labour Ministry, 35.7 lakh vacancies on National Career Service (NCS) were registered in 2022-23, a record so far.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment is carrying out the National Career Service (NCS) Project as a Mission Mode Project to transform the National Employment Service into a variety of employment-related services such as job matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, information on skill development courses, internships, and so on.

Online access to NCS services is available, and the Prime Minister dedicated it to the country in 2015.Since its launch in July 2015, the NCS portal has recorded the highest number of openings during 2022–2023, according to a statement from the labour ministry.

In comparison to the roughly 13 lakh vacancies in 2021–2022, employers have reported about 35.7 lakh vacancies on NCS during 2022–2023.A 175% increase over 2021–22 was seen in the reporting of open positions on NCS for 2022–23.

Additionally, on October 30, 2022, the number of active vacancies for 2022–23 was over 5.3 lakh.

All sectors have experienced an increase in job postings on National Career Service. In comparison to the 2.2 lakh vacancies in 2021–2022, the finance and insurance sector experienced a phenomenal growth of more than 800% and recorded 20.8 lakh vacancies in 2022–2023.The number of openings in the operations and support sector has also increased by 400%, from 76 thousand in 2021–2022 to 3.75 lakh in 2022–23.

Other industries like hotels, food service and catering, manufacturing, health care, and education among others saw a significant rise in job openings in 2022–2023 compared to the previous year.

Since its launch in 2022–2023, the NCS portal has registered more than 1 million employers, another milestone that will be reached in 2022–2023. In 2022–2023, more than 8 lakh employers were registered out of the total number of employers.

The service sector registered the most employers (6.5 lakh), followed by the manufacturing sector.

All of the services offered on the NCS portal are free for all parties involved, including employers, training organizations, placement agencies, and jobseekers.
