In this election, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate Droupadi Murmu stands out over the opposition’s Yashwant Sinha because of the support he has received from many parties. If elected, Murmu will be the first woman of her tribe to hold the nation’s highest constitutional office.

Over 98% of the eligible voters, including 771 MPs and 4,025 MLAs, cast their ballots in the presidential elections on Monday.
