Plan to provide scooters to 30,000 female students is approved by Rajasthan’s chief minister.

JAIPUR:- On Wednesday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved a plan to boost from 20,000 to 30,000 the number of scooters given to deserving female students in the state.
In the budget for the fiscal year 2023–2024, the chief minister had stated that the number of scooters would increase.

Meritorious female students will now have the option to purchase an electric scooter under the Kalibai Bhil Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana and the Devnarayan Scooty Yojana, according to officials. While submitting an online application, female students have a choice.

The state government will invest Rs 390 crore under the plan if all female students register for an e-scooty.
Under the Kalibai Bhil Medhavi Chhatra Scooty Yojana, the higher education department will provide 4162 scooters for female students in all categories, while the social justice and empowerment department will provide 2463 scooters for female SC 12th grade graduates. Girls who completed class 12 in the general category and those who are economically disadvantaged will receive 1477 from the secondary education department. The minority affairs department will provide 1848 to minority female students who completed their 12th grade exams.
