Says Amit Shah of the Adani controversy ,There is nothing for the BJP to be afraid of

The Hindenburg-Adani row has turned into a major political controversy with the Congress and other opposition parties making allegations of favouritism

New Delhi:-India – With the opposition targeting the BJP-led government over the Hindenburg-Adani row, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that it will not be appropriate for him to comment as the Supreme Court has taken cognizance of the matter but there is nothing “for the BJP to hide or be afraid of”.
“The matter has been taken up by the Supreme Court. As a minister, I have no right to comment if the Supreme Court is hearing the case. However, the BJP has nothing to hide and nothing to fear in this regard “In an exclusive interview with ANI, Mr Shah stated.

The Hindenburg-Adani feud has erupted into a major political squabble, with the Congress and other opposition parties accusing the government of favouritism and crony capitalism. They raised the issue during parliament’s budget session, demanding a joint parliamentary committee investigation.

On the issue, the opposition parties have also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They have raised concerns about LIC and other public sector banks’ investments in the Adani group. The government has denied the allegations, and PSUs and regulatory bodies have issued statements stating that they are following the rules and fulfilling their mandates.

Following Hindenburg’s report on Adani Group, the Centre informed the Supreme Court on Monday that SEBI had agreed to form a committee to protect investor interests. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told a bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud that SEBI is fully prepared to deal with the situation that arose as a result of a recent Hindenburg Research report.

Mehta also stated that the government has no objection to forming a committee to recommend ways to protect investors in the future. However, he stated that the committee’s mandate is critical because it has an international impact, and that the government will provide names in a sealed cover.

When asked about Rahul Gandhi’s recent Lok Sabha speech, which was almost entirely about the Adani group, Mr Shah said it is up to the Congress leader or his script writers to decide what speech to give.”What speech he wants to give is up to him or his speech writers,” he explained.

Mr Shah responded to Rahul Gandhi’s accusation of “crony capitalism” against the BJP. “There is no doubt. So far, no one has been able to level such an accusation against the BJP. During their (Congress’) tenure, agencies such as the CAG and the CBI had registered cases alleging corruption. There were 12 lakh crore scams.”When asked about the allegations made by the Congress and other opposition parties that the BJP is “capturing institutions,” Mr Shah said they should go to court, noting that courts are not influenced by the BJP.
“Court kabze mein nahi hai,” he said.
