Schools And Colleges Will Remain Closed On Tuesday In Few Districts In Tamil Nadu Due To Heavy Rain

Due to heavy rains in some districts of Tamil Nadu, Tuesday, November 1 has been declared a holiday for schools and colleges. According to a report by news agency ANI, there will be a holiday in schools in Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Mayiladuthurai districts. In Tiruvannamalai, a holiday was declared in schools and colleges in Cheyyar, Vandavasi, Chetpet and Vembakkam taluks.

It will rain more for the next few days
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places in the state and in Chennai, Chengalpattu, Tiruvannamalai and other districts in the next few days. There is also a possibility of rain in some parts of Puducherry, Karaikal.

Officials of the Greater Chennai Corporation inspected several areas and said that subways like KK Nagar-Rajamannar Salai and Ganeshpuram did not have stagnation of rain water in view of the preparatory measures and drainage work. Flood surveillance cameras have been installed by the authorities in the flood-hit areas. Improvements to storm-drainage infrastructure have been completed in some areas and are continuing in other parts of the city.

traffic problems faced by people
Barricades have been put up in many parts of the roads due to the already under construction Chennai Metrorail Phase-II project. However, such things have already increased the traffic and congestion. Rain and water logging has become a new problem in front of the people.

Northeast monsoon rains started in Tamil Nadu on 29 October.
