Day 3 box office results for The Kerala Story: Sudipto Sen and Adah Sharma’s movie brings in twice as much money as Day 1

The Kerala Story, a contentious movie directed by Sudipto Sen, had a fantastic Sunday, May 7, at the box office. The movie has collected twice as much as Day 1’s total.

Janani K Since film opened in theatres this week, The Kerala Story, directed by Sudipto Sen, has seen an increase in ticket sales. On Sunday, May 7, the movie made twice as much money as it did on Day 1. However, several theatres in Tamil Nadu and numerous other states decided to cancel the film’s showing. Madhya Pradesh announced The Kerala Story to be tax-free.

The movie made Rs 8.03 crore (net) on its first day of release in India. On Sunday, May 7, the movie’s estimated domestic box office gross was Rs 16.50 crore (nett). Compared to Day 1, this collection is twice as large. The Kerala Story has already earned a total of Rs 35.75 crore in India.

On May 7, The Kerala Story recorded a 52.92 percent occupancy rate. It will be interesting to see if the movie continues to be popular on weekdays as well.

Sudipto Sen is the director of The Kerala Story, which stars Adah Sharma, Yogina Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani in the key parts. An innocent Hindu woman who is coerced into becoming an Islamazi is the subject of the movie. Later, she gets transferred to the terrorist group ISIS.

Everyone was surprised, though, to learn that the movie is based on actual events in which some 32,000 Keralan women fell victim to this risky ruse.

The movie has been under inspection ever since the trailer debuted. The creators revised the trailer’s description following legal intervention. It was altered to become the “story of three women” rather than the “story of 32,000 women.”
