The driver admitted to the police that he had been given the order to bring the posters to the AAP’s main office.

A police raid on thousands of posters criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi that were put up throughout Delhi has resulted in the filing of 36 cases and the detention of six people. Two of the individuals that were detained are printers.
On Tuesday, the cops removed approximately 2,000 posters from various locations throughout Delhi in a huge operation. “Modi hatao, desh bachao (Remove Modi, preserve the country)” was the motto on the majority of these posters.

According to the police, the arrests were made for vandalising government property and violating the rule requiring the name of the printing press on posters. According to Delhi police, 138 FIRs were filed on Tuesday, out of which 36 were related to anti-Modi posters.

“The printer’s name should appear on every poster. Legal action will be taken for any infringement. Such behaviour is present and will remain, “Police in Delhi stated in a statement. The police seized over 2,000 posters that were purportedly on their way to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) office. When they stopped a van in the IP Estate neighbourhood of Central Delhi, the police discovered the posters. The delivery of the posters to the AAP was specified, the driver informed police. He claimed that he had made a similar delivery on Monday as well.

In a tweet, the Aam Aadmi Party questioned the FIRs and enquired as to what was offensive about the posters. The party added that this marked the “apex of the dictatorship under the Modi regime.”

The Delhi Police was informed by the printing press owners who were detained that they had been given the go-ahead to print 50,000 “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao” posters. As the name of the printing press was missing from the posters, the proprietors have been taken into custody. The arrests have developed into the newest tinderbox between the Center and AAP. AAP was accused by the Bharatiya Janata Party of breaking the law when posting the posters.

“AAP lacks the guts to claim that they organised the protests. When they erected the posters, they violated the law “Harish Khurana, a BJP spokesperson in Delhi, stated. On the other hand, the Aam Aadmi Party has declared a protest for tomorrow at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar to call for the removal of Prime Minister Modi.
