 The DAV, JAIPUR CELEBRATEs LOHri & MAKAR SANKRANTI WITH FERVOUR

DAV Centenary Public School, Jaipur celebrated Lohri and Makar Sankranti on 13th January 2024 with great zeal and enthusiasm. In the morning assembly students threw light on the sanctity of Makar Sankranti, and Pongal which is followed by the festival of Lohri. The celebrations began with a speech highlighting the importance of the festival, and students gave speeches, recited poems, and sang traditional Lohri songs telling the significance of the festival.

Sudents narrated how the harvest festival is celebrated in various states of India, and also recited poems and shlokas. Students of grade Nursery to five celebrated the auspicious festival of Lohri & Makar Sankranti on the virtual podium with the same enthusiasm and eagerness as they do in school premises by making kites and posters. They celebrated with a lot of exuberance and fanfare as the harvest festival of Lohri marks the end of the winter season. It was a gala time as the teachers presented Punjabi boliyaan and folk Lohri songs wearing traditional Punjabi attire and danced around the holy bonfire. They also had a great time endeavouring their skill of kite flying.The positive vibes of Lohri filled the air with happiness. The celebrations of the festival of joy, thrill and excitement concluded following the rich tradition of distribution of groundnuts, rewari and sweets. Principal Mr. A.K. Sharma greeted and encouraged the students and staff to value their cultural heritage and  congratulated them.
