In its budget, the Delhi government allots $16.575 billion to the education sector

Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot allotted 16,575 crores for the education department in the Delhi Budget for the years 2023–2024.

The Delhi government will install new computers in 350 schools in the national capital in 2023–2024 in addition to giving new tablets to all teachers, principals, and vice–principals.Finance Minister Kailash Gahlot allotted 16,575 crores for the education department in the Delhi Budget for the years 2023–2024.

The education sector received the largest allocation of  16,278 crore in the 2022–23 Delhi Budget.The highlights of Delhi’s budget for the education sector include giving each of the 350 schools under its control 20 new computers and funding the teaching of French, German, Japanese, and Spanish in Schools of Specialized Excellence.

In 2023, more Ambedkar Schools of Specialized Education branches, according to the minister. 20 schools of specialised education will exist in 2021, and 37 will exist in 2023.Mr. Gahlot also announced that schools and businesses will work together to develop professional skills for students at Schools of Applied Learning.

According to the Delhi government, approximately 56 students from the first batch of the Entrepreneurial Mindset Curriculum received direct admissions in courses such as BBA and B.Tech at the top seven universities in Delhi.

According to the minister, students in the first class of Delhi’s Model Virtual School came from 14 different states across the country.He went on to say that the Delhi government had sent 1,410 teachers, principals, and educators to Finland, Singapore, and Cambridge in the previous eight years, as well as 1,247 principals to IIM Ahmedabad and 61 principals to IIM Lucknow.

Modern sports complexes, such as the International Sports Complex in Kair (Najafgarh), the Mundhela Sports Complex, and the Pehladpur Sports Complex, have been built in the previous five years, according to Mr. Kailash Gahlot .According to the minister, projects in the pipeline include a wrestling hostel and the relaying of synthetic tracks at the Chhatrasal Stadium, upgrading the Rajiv Gandhi stadium, and the construction of a squash centre at the Thyagraj stadium.

He went on to say that there are plans to build a multipurpose sports complex at Samaspur Khalsa in Najafgarh, with 35 acres of land already set aside for it.

Over 9,000 players have received payments from the government totaling 110 crore over the past eight years.
