The Kerala Story Box Office: Adah Sharma’s film had the seventh-biggest opening weekend ever for a female-focused Bollywood production

The Kerala Story by Adah Sharma had the seventh-largest opening weekend ever for a female-focused Bollywood movie.

The Kerala Story is achieving new heights. In addition to being one of the Top 5 Bollywood debuts of 2023, it is currently the 7th-biggest debut for a female-centric movie. The Kerala Story is the only movie with a leading lady who has essentially one respectable Bollywood grosser to her name [1920] and that too was a decade and a half ago (the movie came out in 2008). Practically all other films in the Top-10 list are led by actresses who had a good list of hit films to their name before they arrived with really big openers.

Adah Sharma is once again on the map thanks to the film’s excellent opening, and this could mark the start of a new chapter in her career. The actress has been extremely active on social media and in the film industry all these years, but she was waiting for that one huge movie that would really make a great impression on professional filmmakers.

Currently, the Kerala Story is the result of this. She has therefore joined stars like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut, Sunny Leone, and Priyanka Chopra in the process.

Now, it will be interesting to see where the movie places in terms of a female-centric movie’s biggest weekend statistics. Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Veere Di Wedding are the three titles immediately at the top; Adah Sharma will be tackling these flicks.
