Q: Tell us about your background.
B.Tech, M.Tech. Worked in the Middle East for two years. Then acquired Diplomas in French, Spanish and in Counselling skills and last year, 2022, Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapies (PGDP).

Q: Tell us about your contribution to the society.
I’ve been fortunate to be a part of some organizations and volunteer: Helping Hand – Banjara Academy, Project StepOne in association with 24×7 helpline Arogya Sahayavani, MHCOP – Mental Health Foundation India, Paatashaala and Mission 10K – White Swan Foundation.

Acknowledged for exemplary dedication as a Mental Health Counselor by 13 States in India and 9 Municipalities.

Q: How did you plan to be a Mental Health Expert/Healer/Counsellor, what was the key challenge?
There was never really a plan. My own mental health challenges took me to becoming a Counselor. Empathizing is easier said than done because each person’s mental health experience can be so different.

Q: explain about your career and the challenges that you faced starting your career.
When I was hospitalized for COVID, the symptoms came down in 2-3 days. While I was still on the hospital bed, I was getting restless as I had to wait for some more days as per the protocol. That’s where I began to remotely volunteer with some organizations.

Q: What are your future plans and projects?
One of the projects I’m working toward is streamlining of the process of pledging skin in order to help acid attack victims.

Q: Tell us about your organisation

Helping Hand, Banjara Academy is where I’m volunteering currently, where we provide free counselling services by means of emotional support.

The selfless nature of the volunteers who have been serving for several decades is commendable.

That I’m grateful for whatever opportunities received and sought after to make a difference.
