The family has been informed, and the incident is still being investigated, according to the police.

The suspect, who was captured on CCTV, is also depicted in a photo released by the Columbus Division Police.

Rohit Yalamanchili, who is in charge of organising an online fundraising campaign to send Veera’s body back to India, claims that the young man was enrolled in a Master’s programme when he was selected for an H-1B visa, just 10 days before he was set to graduate.

In a few weeks, he would leave his position as a clerk at the petrol station, said Mr Yalamanchili.

Veera, the first member of his family to immigrate to the US, had high hopes for his family because his father had passed away two years prior.

He was a great sport on the cricket pitch and was always willing to lend a hand to others. He was a fantastic cricketer and a great friend, and he was well-known to every cricket player in the Columbus area.

Mr. Yalamanchili continued, “I pray that God grants Saiesh, his mother, family, and friends who were touched by his soul, peace.
