Congress leader's daughter abducted

From 2008 to 2013, Keshwat presided over the Rajasthan Denotified Tribes and Nomadic, Semi-Nomadic Welfare Board in a position equivalent to that of a minister of state.

Following the alleged kidnapping of a Congress leader’s 21-year-old daughter in Jaipur as she was out purchasing veggies, the Jaipur police have filed a FIR.

On Monday night, the event happened in the Pratap Nagar neighbourhood. Gopal Keshawat, 55, complained that his daughter Abhilasha had informed him and left on a scooter for a vegetable market on Monday at around 5:50 p.m.

She called me at 6:03 p.m. and said that some men were pursuing her and that I needed to arrive right away, according to Keshawat. He claims that despite his hasty arrival at the scene, he was unable to locate his daughter, and her phone was also off.

Keshawat also mentioned a few names in his police complaint and the subsequent FIR, claiming that they have threatened to kill him and his family, and that he has “informed the police of the same.” Keshawat informed The Indian Express that “they are all criminals.” He claimed that because he leads a busy public life and has been working to ban alcohol, he frequently receives threats.

“About 2-3 months ago, my vehicle’s glasses were also broken; I had reported that incident at the time,” he stated.

Unknown individuals have been named in an abduction FIR. Abhilasha is a third-year Economics (Honors) student at Gargi College in Delhi who is getting ready for the UPSC. Keshawat has two sons in addition to Abhilasha.

Bhajan Lal, the SHO for Pratap Nagar, stated, “We are looking into everything.”

We visited the area and spoke with some of the local sellers, but they said they had not seen any kidnappings. We are now reviewing the CCTV footage. This morning (Tuesday), the scooter was discovered on the airport road, according to Lal.

“A VVIP’s dog is usually recovered within hours of being taken. But here is a young child, a sensible child; had she been the daughter of a powerful figure, politician, or businessman, she may already have been discovered. But she is a poor Dalit man’s daughter,” Keshawat stated.

From 2008 until 2013, Keshwat presided over the Rajasthan Denotified Tribes and Nomadic, Semi-Nomadic Welfare Board in a position similar to that of a minister of state.
