Departmental Libraries of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Competitive Exam, Computer Science (which has about 300 CDs pertaining to interactive learning, a large e-book collection along with the normal books) Social Science, and Primary section.

  1. Systems
  • Computerization
  • The Office Computer Network: The office computer network, established in 1994, handles all the requirements of MPS except for the printing of question papers, has about twenty computers connected together on a LAN. All software, except for accounting, has been developed in-house for the network. A separate section possessing one computer and a high-speed printer handles the question paper and other bulk printing jobs.
  • The Student Computer Network: The school was one of the first Institutions in Jaipur to introduce Computer Education. The first Computer Laboratory with thirty PC-8086s was built and the subject was introduced from 1st April 1986.

The subject is taught to all from Std. IV to Std. X. It is an optional subject in Std. XI and XII. The school is equipped with three computer laboratories with over 90 computers and unlimited Internet access.

MPS is the only school in Jaipur that teaches Introductory Informatics in Std. IX and X (280 + 252 students respectively), Informatics Practices in Std. XI and XII (38 + 36 students respectively) as well as Introductory Computer Science in Std. XI and XII (48 + 44 students respectively). This is perhaps the highest strength of students in Computer Science from a single school in Ajmer region of CBSE.

The school has implement Teachnext, an audio-visual teaching aid based on advanced computer graphics and MS-Powerpoint presentations. All teachers have been trained to use computers as a teaching aid.

  • Information acquisition

CCTV and 2-way PA system have been introduced in all classrooms with monitoring points in the offices of Vice-Principals and Principal. Fax and Internet were introduced into the office work environment along with the existing intercom network.

  • Academic
  • Monitoring of Teaching Staff

In real time the Principal and Vice Principals monitor the work of the teaching staff through the CCTV system. A VCR attached to the CCTV system in the Principals office enables AV recording of the teacher teaching a class. Reports from parents are also collated and the concerned teacher is counseled. No senior staff actually visits a class for observation. An Annual Performance Report is also filled-in by the teachers and verified first by the Vice-Principal and then by the Principal.

  • Monitoring of student discipline

A report of attendance and lists of defaulting students is collected once a month from every class teacher. A daily check of uniform and personal cleanliness is done with the help of martinets (selected from students). Any default is noted in the student’s diary and the matter is reported to VP (Discipline), where a consolidated record is maintained. Subject/Class Teachers also record their comments on class work/homework not done as well as any other observation regarding discipline in the student’s diary and report to VP (Discipline). Action is taken against the students as per the recommendations of the discipline committee comprising of the Vice-Principal (Discipline), three teachers.

  • Examination

The school is unique in Jaipur in adopting a system of CCE from Std. I to XII exactly as prescribed by the CBSE for IX and X. The computer printed report cards reflecting the progress of the child are also unique.

To ensure fair evaluation, all subject teachers teaching a particular subject to a particular class are asked to frame the question papers. One of these question papers is chosen in total secrecy after scrutiny. In all the term examinations, all answer scripts are coded to conceal the identity of the students and are released to a team of evaluators. No single evaluator is allowed to check the entire answer script. Each evaluator is allowed to check only that portion of the answer script that pertains to the questions allocated to him. No one is allowed to carry answer scripts home for evaluation. The entire evaluation is done `on-the-spot-in-a-team’. All evaluation is done as per an answer key prepared by the team of subject teachers of a particular subject and students. The students are allowed to take the evaluated answer sheets home along with the answer key.

  • MPS and Students

A year round coaching class during regular periods for XI and XII science students is organized to help them in their preparation for competitive examinations. NTSE classes are held in the zero periods (from July to November) in the Biology lab for those students of Std. X who opt for them.

From the session 2002-2003, the school has begun with a new scheme of ‘No School Bags’ for the students of Std. I. Under this scheme, the bags of students are kept in the school and all teaching & learning is done in the school itself, so that the parents can spend their time with the child in other equally important activities.
