MGD enters its 72nd year of glory

Jaipur / As MGD enters its 72nd year of glory, we celebrated this occasion with the presence of Mrs. Neeta Buchra of batch 1983, an executive member of MGD Girls’ Guild Committee, as our esteemed Chief Guest. The event was also graced by Rani Vidya Deviji, president Maharani Gayatri Devi School, Jaipur.

The event started by offering homage to our founder, the late Rajmata Gayatri Deviji, all the dignitaries were then welcomed traditionally, after which, the celebration started. At 8:30 am, the A.V Room of our school was inaugurated by Rani Vidya Deviji along with the principal, Mrs. Suniti Sharma and other guild members.

And as we all know, no birthday is ever complete until the cake is cut; our esteemed guests along with staff and students of our school were present. Sweets were distributed to all the MGDians.

The staff secretaries of our school, Mrs A. Raj &Mrs S. Agarwal presented a handsome amount with a potted plants and a birthday card to the school. Mrs. Alka Purohit from Bank of Baroda presented a bouquet to the principal.

The class XII students, batch of 2015 were then awarded with the roll of honour. We’re proud to announce that this year 25 girls secured an A1 grade in all 5 subjects.

Maharani Vidya Deviji thanked the founders: Rajmata Gayatri Deviji, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singhji and Ms. Lillian Lutters, who gave ethos, motto and shape to this institution.

The chief guest, Mrs. Neeta Buchra addressed the gathering, narrated the story of Pearl S. Buck, the Nobel Prize winner for “Good Earth”. who succeeded after many failures. Ms Neeta said – “It doesn’t matter that you have won but that you have tried your best. Always keep a balance between head and heart. MGDians should never say die”. She also asserted that school days are the best days full of masti. The principles instilled at school guide us in the Odyssey called Life. If you chase your dreams hard, they come true. The infallible spirit remains eternal.

The Vice-President of the guild committee, Mrs. Jane H. Singh, also addressed the audience telling them that MGD is the manifestation of the desires, wishes and dreams of a forward looking thinker- Rajmata Gayatri Deviji. We’re the custodians of this rich and priceless legacy sustained and nurtured, to be taken forward, it’s our collective responsibility of keeping the MGD Flag flying high.

Finally, it was the time for the most awaited event of the whole ceremony, ‘The Theatrical Pirouette’, it was an inter house dance and drama competition. Its theme was “Raising Sons to Respect Women”

The judges for this competition were: Mr. Ajit Maan, a famous Rajasthani Filmmaker, Mrs Chirmi Acharya – a very talented and famous dramatist, Mr. Kishan Singh Gajawat, one of the core member of Buskers, Jaipur.

The principal, Mrs. Suniti Sharma read out the school birthday messages from Ex- Head Girls, Ex-Teachers and Guild members.

After all the magnificent performances, Sarojini Naidu came first in Drama and Florence Nightingale stood first in Dance.

After the vote of thanks by the Deputy Head Girl, Arundhati Joshi, the staff escorted the dignitaries to the dining hall for tea and snacks.

The memorable event concluded on a pleasant note and the audience departed with contented hearts, hoping for the best from their dream school, MGD.
