Dr Ambedkar Memorial Welfare Society Rajasthan has amended its governing rules to constitute a Permanent Council as the organisation’s senior institutional body, with responsibilities covering oversight, elections, dispute resolution and guidance to the central executive committee.

The Jaipur-based society described the restructuring as an effort to strengthen transparency, accountability and democratic functioning within the organisation.

Under the amended framework, the Permanent Council will function as a senior deliberative and supervisory body. It will monitor the society’s work, advise its leadership and participate in decisions requiring broader institutional scrutiny.

The council’s authority will operate within the society’s registered constitution, bylaws and applicable law. Its decisions will be treated as final at the society’s internal level, subject to any legal or regulatory remedies available under prevailing legislation.

Council to Oversee Elections and Resolve Internal Disputes

According to the amended rules, the Permanent Council will provide guidance and recommendations to the central executive committee. It will also oversee arrangements intended to ensure that organisational elections are conducted impartially, peacefully and within the prescribed schedule.

The council has additionally been assigned a role in addressing disputes arising within the society. The new structure is intended to create an institutional balance between executive decision-making, independent supervision and internal accountability.

Hanuman Prasad Appointed Permanent Council President

Society founder Hanuman Prasad has been appointed president of the Permanent Council, while former IPS officer Jai Narayan Sher has been entrusted with the responsibility of organisation secretary.

The newly appointed office-bearers and council members took an oath to discharge their responsibilities in accordance with the society’s governing rules and stated objectives.

Satyaveer Singh Emphasises Transparent Governance

Society president and former IPS officer Satyaveer Singh said the organisation would continue its public-interest initiatives with transparency and respect for institutional rules.

He said the Permanent Council would help reinforce supervision, responsible decision-making and accountability across the society’s administrative structure.

Singh said decisions would be taken in accordance with the society’s constitution and prescribed procedures, while keeping Dr B. R. Ambedkar’s principles of social justice, equality and democracy at the centre of its work.

Restructuring Expected to Strengthen Institutional Governance

The society expects the new council to provide continuity and greater stability to its administrative framework. Its effectiveness will ultimately depend on clearly defined powers, transparent procedures and consistent adherence to the amended rules.

The oath-taking ceremony concluded with society general secretary Dr Chetram Raipuria expressing gratitude to the office-bearers, council members and other participants.
