The family of the student has requested assistance from the foreign ministry in bringing the body home.
Hyderabad: An illness claimed the life of a 22-year-old Indian student from Tamil Nadu who had been studying medicine in China for the previous five years. His family, who was struggling financially, has asked the foreign ministry for assistance in returning his remains.
Abdul Sheikh, an Indian student pursuing a medical degree, had been conducting an internship in China toward the end of his training. He recently left India and returned to China on December 11.
Mr. Sheikh had been interning with Qiqihar Medical University in Heilongjiang province, northeast China, following the required eight-day isolation upon arrival.

But he fell ill and had to be sent to the ICU, where he passed away.
The family of the student has requested assistance from the foreign ministry in bringing the body home. The family has also made a request for assistance from the Tamil Nadu administration.
