Maharashtra and Gujarat See the Launch of the “Kilkari” Mobile Health Service and Mobile Academy by Union Ministers

Kilkari is virtually inaugurated by Union Health Ministers Prof. S P Singh Baghel and Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar. Kilkari offers weekly IVRS messages on maternal and child health as well as a mobile academy for ASHA training

In order to improve the public health infrastructure in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the Kilkari initiative and Mobile Academy were essentially established by Union Ministers of State for Health and Family Welfare, Prof. S P Singh Baghel and Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar. While Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) can receive training via mobile phones via Mobile Academy, Kilkari offers timely audio messages on reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health.

Overview of the Kilkari Program
Goal: Utilizing IVRS, provide 72 audio messages per week with a focus on reproductive, maternity, neonatal, and pediatric health care.
Implementation: Targets beneficiaries registered during pregnancy or after childbirth by using the Reproductive Child Health (RCH) portal.
Content: Voiced by a fictional doctor character called Dr. Anita, prerecorded communications.
Accessibility: Mothers of children under one year old and expectant mothers receive free services.
Cost: No extra charges for States/UTs, beneficiaries, or the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) are incurred for this central hosting.

Initiative for Mobile Academies Goal

: By providing ASHAs with a free audio training course that they can access on their phones, we hope to improve their knowledge and communication abilities.
Efficiency: A cost-effective and efficient training approach that enables thousands of ASHAs to receive training at the same time.
Accessibility: Training available whenever and anywhere, assisting in the ongoing advancement of ASHAs.

Present-Day Application
states Covered: Kilkari is currently available in 18 states and UTs, while Mobile Academy is available in 17 states and UTs.
Languages: For greater accessibility, versions in Hindi, Bhojpuri, Oriya, Assamese, Bengali, and Telugu are available.
Expansion: Constantly growing to strengthen public health infrastructure across the country and reach more beneficiaries.
