When asked if the BJP was the most popular party and if the Congress was losing ground, Mallikarjun Kharge responded in the negative.
Web Desk for India Today Mallikarjun Kharge, the president of the Congress, asserted that no one could put an end to the grand old party. The Congress chief spoke at Agenda Aajtak 2022 with a sense of assurance in his party’s ability to handle problems on its own.
we asserted, “We are capable of handling the problems within our party and do not require outside assistance.”
When questioned about the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Gujarat and the celebrations by the prime minister and JP Nadda, Kharge responded, “We don’t participate in event planning.” When we succeed, we don’t gloat. We are content and give everyone credit. “When we lose, we evaluate what went wrong and make an effort to fix it.”

He was questioned about if the BJP is the most popular party and whether the Congress is losing ground. He stated: “Democracy does not operate in this manner. There isn’t a No. 1 or No. 2 party. However, we won’t be going.”
He also responded to a query regarding the upcoming chief minister of Himachal Pradesh vote by the Congress.
“The choice of the Himachal CM would not be made by me.” The MLAs will deliberate and make a decision. “The consensus of the party will guide our decision,” he added.
The assertion is accurate given that the BJP won 25 seats in Himachal while the Congress won 40 seats in the hill state. In the hill state, a party must win 35 seats in order to create a government. The BJP-led administration was forced to resign on Thursday after failing to collect the necessary numbers.
According to Mallikarujun Kharge
the party needed to reflect on the rural Gujarat districts that had historically supported the Congress. Only 13 seats in rural Gujarat were won by the Congress, and the AAP took five of those seats.
He avoided the situation in which the grand old party may be concerned. “It’s not a problem, no.” Amit Shah is from Gujarat, which is Modi’s home state. Kharge emphasized that they campaigned at the local level because it was important to them.
We’ll dispatch a team to assess the Congress’s shortcomings and determine why the party lost those seats, he promised.
Are the elections in 2024 already set? Will Congress be overthrown? According to Kharge, the party is taking the necessary action. He emphasized that Congress is working to change the public’s perceptions of polarization.
“Elections are unknown to us, but we are aware of the nation’s issues and we work to shift people’s perspectives. In relation to Karnataka, our party members are working as expected. We oppose polarisation, “said, Kharge.
