Neeraj Chopra, a top javelin thrower from India, threw 88.77 metres
Friday at the World Athletics Championships 2023 qualifying round. With this, he gained entry to the Olympics in Paris. Additionally, Neeraj has confirmed his participation in the World Athletics Championship final. On July 26, 2024, the Paris Olympics will get underway.
Neeraj threw 88.77 metres on his first attempt at the qualifying round of the World Athletics Championships now taking place in Budapest, Hungary, which is also a season high. Neeraj Chopra, 25, has won gold medals at the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. He also won the Diamond League.

Silver in the World Athletics Championship went to Neeraj.
India’s medal chances in this competition have strengthened with Neeraj Chopra’s qualification for the final, as no Indian athlete has won gold in the World Athletics Championships to yet. a silver medalist at the 2022 World Athletics Championship. With this, India’s 19-year search for the medal came to an end.
Also competing is current world champion Anderson Peters.
Along with Neeraj, the competition also includes Anderson Peters, the defending champion, Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad & Tobago, world No. 2 Julian Weber of Germany, and Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan.
India only won two medals at the competition.
In 1983, the World Athletics Championship was established. Only two medals have been won by Indian athletes thus far at the World Athletics Championships. With her bronze medal in the women’s long jump at the 2003 World Championships in Paris, Anju Bobby George became the first Indian to take home a medal.
