Petrol price crosses Rs 120 in Mumbai

According to the price notification by state-owned oil marketing companies, the petrol price touched a record high of Rs 120.51 in Mumbai. Fuel prices were hiked by 80 paise per liter on Wednesday, taking petrol and diesel prices up by Rs 10 in a total of 17 days.
Petrol price in Delhi was Rs 105.41 per liter today, while diesel was being sold at Rs 96.67 per liter. Petrol was priced at Rs 115.08 per liter in Kolkata today, and diesel prices are retailing at Rs 99.82 per liter in the capital of West Bengal. In Chennai, a liter of petrol is being sold at Rs 110.89 and diesel at Rs 100.98 per liter.
Petrol and diesel prices were kept on freeze from November 4 to March 22 last year, after which it was raised 14 times in 17 days. It comes amid a major increase in global crude oil prices driven by the Russia-Ukraine war. India imports 85 percent of its crude oil from other countries.
