India seized an unassailable 3-0 lead against Bangladesh in the five-match Twenty20 International series thanks to a fifty from Shafali Verma

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India, showered the 20-year-old opener Shafali Verma with accolades after she amassed 51 runs off of 38 balls on Thursday at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, leading the Women in Blue to a victory over Bangladesh by seven wickets. India has already put themselves in a commanding 3-0 lead in the five-match Twenty20 International series with yet another superb all-around effort.

Radha Yadav claimed two wickets in the first innings as Bangladesh was reduced to 117/8. Pooja Vastrakar, Shreyanka Patil, and Renuka Singh also claimed a wicket apiece.

India finished the chase in 18.3 overs when Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana combined for 91 runs for the first wicket. The latter also made 47.

Shafali, who hit 43 off 26 balls to give India a solid start in the powerplay, was commended by Harmanpreet.

We were hoping that because Smriti and Shafali were batting well, they would win the game for us. Following the tenth over, both the ball and their bowlers were kept low and tight. In a post-game presentation, Harmanpreet remarked, “She (Shafali Verma) is someone who can always give us a lot of runs in the powerplay and it’s good to see she is doing well.”

She is scoring runs for the team today, and I’m very pleased about that. They are all quite pleased of the way they bowl, and Deepti also bowled some very important overs for us. They all bowled pretty well. Knowing where to bowl and carrying out their strategies effectively

In addition, Harman praised veteran all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who in four overs gave up just 18 runs and also removed Murshida Khatun with a throw from point.

“(About Deepti Sharma) She is a highly experienced individual; anytime we are having problems, I pass the ball to her. She is performing admirably for us, and I hope she keeps up her good work. The next game isn’t for three days yet, so we’ll sit down and discuss it. Whoever plays will lead the squad and perform well. (Regarding the coaching staff) They exude calmness and composure, and their message was crystal clear—clear thinking is exactly what you need at this point. They always assign us tasks, therefore I’m glad they collaborate with us. Additionally, Harmanpreet said.

On Monday, the fourth Twenty20 International will happen on the same field.
