Anurag Kashyap Stated That There Is A ‘Kranti (revolution) Happening In Indian Cinema Halls Today,’ Thanks To Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, Which Has Broken Numerous Box Office Records Since

According to filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, which became the fastest Hindi film to cross the 300 crore mark in India, is sparking a revolution in the country. Anurag, who has been praising the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer since its release last week, said in a new interview that audiences had flocked to theatres to see the film, which was released after facing ban and boycott calls in recent weeks.

Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana, and Dimple Kapadia also star in Pathaan. Pathaan’s first-week total in India is now 315 crore nett. Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, was released on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Pathaan has set numerous records since its initial release. Previously, the film became India’s fastest Hindi film to reach the 200 crore club.

In a recent interview with RJ Stutee on Hindustan Times’ celebrity talk show Aur Batao, Anurag said, “Apart from love, films can bring kranti (revolution) in the country.” “Hamesh hi aati hai filmon se. Cinema halls mein, Shah Rukh Khan ki Pathaan ke liye, aaj kranti ho rahi hai (Films have also sparked a revolution. Today, thanks to Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, there is a revolution in Indian cinema halls)…”

Anurag had previously praised Pathaan and Shah Rukh’s performance after seeing it on its first day of release. “Shah Rukh Khan itna haseen, itna sundar pehle kabhi laga nahi,” he told reporters. Toh hum, usko dekhne aaye the aur dil khush ho gaye. Shah Rukh ke liye pehli baar aisa role hai, aur itna khatarnak action hai. I’ve never seen Shah Rukh Khan in such a stunning performance. So we came to see him, and we are overjoyed. The action sequence is so dangerous that Shah Rukh plays it for the first time. I don’t believe he’s ever done anything like this before).”

Shah Rukh Khan makes his big-screen comeback in a prominent role with Pathaan, more than four years after Zero (2018). In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Anurag had said, “Shah Rukh’s comeback movie has received mixed reviews from audiences “People are returning to theatres and dancing on screen as they do so. Concerning the movie, many are ecstatic. There is bliss, and it is a lovely euphoria. This feeling of joy was absent. This exhilaration also has a sociopolitical component; it is like making a declaration.”
