BCCI awards annual contracts to 17 women cricketers: Rs 50 lakh per year to top women cricketers; Rodriguez and Richa Ghosh Promote

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Thursday that 17 female Team India players had been given annual central contracts for the 2022–2023 season. Richa Ghosh and Jemima Rodrigues have been promoted to Grade B. From B to C, Pooja Vastrakar has arrived.

Three Grade-A players will each receive Rs. 50 lakh.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Deepti Sharma were three of the 17 players that the BCCI placed in Grade A. Each of these three will receive Rs. 50 lakh. Renuka Singh and Shefali Verma are two of the five players who have been assigned to Grade B.

Meghna Singh and Sneh Rana are two of the nine players in Grade C. Players in Grade B will receive Rs 30-30 lakh, and those in Grade C will receive Rs 10 lakh. The same sum was awarded to each of the three grades last year as well.

There are 26 male players on the board.

At the same time, the BCCI announced the central contract for male players for the 2022-23 season last month. This list contained 26 players. This time, there are four players in Grade A+, whereas normally only three players are placed in this grade. Five players were in Grade A, six in Grade B, and eleven in Grade C.

2015 saw agreement for women.

Female cricket players received contracts for the first time in 2015. Then, there were 15 lakhs in grade A and 10 lakhs in grade B available. Male cricketers received one crore in A grade, 50 lakh in B grade, and 30 lakh in C grade back then. 2018 saw the addition of Grade C to the women’s section. Women who play cricket are paid $50,000 in Grade A, $30,000 in Grade B, and $10,000 in Grade C. Men receive 7 crores for an A+, 5 crores for an A, 3 crores for a B, and 1 crore for a C.
