Day 1 box office results for Bheed: Anubhav Sinha’s movie had a poor opening day, barely breaking the $1 crore barrier

Bheed, the most recent social drama from Anubhav Sinha, debuted in theatres on Friday. Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar play the main characters in the black-and-white movie, which follows the plight of migrant labourers who returned to their hometowns from cities during the first coronavirus lockdown. But, the movie isn’t doing so well at the ticket counters. In contrast, the Hollywood film John Wick is performing significantly better.

Some first-day box office data was released by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, providing some insight into the movie’s box office performance. “#Bheed at major retailers… Week 1 Friday PVR raked in 15 lakh, INOX 8 lac, and Cinepolis 6 lac. Combined: 29 lacs #JohnWick4 at big-name retailers Week 1 Friday “Total: $3.65 billion #PVR: 1.93 cr #INOX: 1.05 cr #Cinepolis: 67 lacs,” he wrote.

Even last week’s and last to last week’s episodes of Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar and Mrs. Chatterjee Vs. Norway are performing better than Bheed. Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway made $60,000 in theatre chains, while Friday’s performance of Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar brought in an additional $1,120,000.

Before its release, Bheed was dubbed “anti-India” by several social media users. There are already “enough people banging their chests and applauding it, which is terrific,” but someone also needs to speak up about the problems, according to director Anubhav Sinha. I adore Indians for being Indians, and I strive to be a better Indian than those who thought my film was anti-Indian. Why don’t you fault your mother? Despite your criticism, you still adore your sister, mother, and father.

“I love my nation and society so much, and I believe we can do better,” he continued.

The John Wick franchise began with the 2014 film John Wick, which follows a retired assassin who returns to the world he had left behind to get revenge on a person for killing a dog that was given to him by his late wife. Two sequels, John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, were released after it (2019). The films are renowned for their violent and fierce combat scenes.
