Credent Tv: Cop in Faridabad swallows Rs 4,000 – A Haryana Police sub-inspector was caught collecting a bribe by Vigilance officers in Faridabad, but as they were ready to arrest him, he attempted to swallow the cash to obliterate the evidence. On social media, a video of the incident has gone viral.

Mahender Pal, a sub-inspector working at the Sector 3 police station, has been named.

He was taken into custody after a wedding event. In an instance of buffalo theft, he had requested a payment of Rs 10,000, of which he had already pocketed Rs 6,000.

In the footage, it can be seen that the vigilance agents struggle with Sub-Inspector Mahender Pal to remove the money from his mouth. To get the money back, one of the officials shoved his fingers in the cop’s mouth. Another vigilance officer shoved a man who attempted to step in.

Shambhu Yadav, a resident of Sector 3, claimed in a complaint that he sold a cow to a man by the name of Deshraj for Rs 40,000. He provided him Rs. 30,000, but the balance was still due. According to Yadav’s allegation, Deshraj afterwards accused Shambhu’s grandson of stealing a buffalo and filed a complaint against him.

Following receipt of the complaint, Inspector Sheoran Lal assembled a special team to conduct a raid. The accused Sub Inspector swallowed the bribe money during the raid, but the VB team forced him to puke and recovered the cash.

The accused has had a FIR filed against them at the VB under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
