CSK won a hat-trick of games, defeating Kolkata by 49 runs and becoming table toppers by scoring the highest score of the tournament.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have won three games in a row in the Indian Premier League (IPL). At Eden Gardens, the team defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by 49 runs. Batting heroes for the team included Ajinkya Rahane, Devon Conway, and Shivam Dubey. Tushar Deshpande and Mahish Teekshana took 2-2 wickets in the same bowling.

Fifty was put in by Rinku Singh and Jason Roy of Kolkata. In the final match of the double header on Sunday, Chennai batted first after losing the toss and scored 235 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Kolkata could only muster 186 runs for 8 wickets in response.

After losing the toss and choosing to bat first, the CSK batsmen immediately applied pressure to the KKR. With quick fiftys from Devon Conway, Shivam Dubey, and Ajinkya Rahane, the team’s total rose to 235.

Weak powerplay by KKR

KKR had a rough start in their pursuit of the 236 run goal. Sunil Narine and Narayan Jagadeesan, the team’s two openers, were both dismissed in the span of just 8 balls. Only 38 runs could be scored by the team in 6 overs.

The success of Jason Roy

After getting hurt in the first innings, Kolkata’s opener Jason Roy entered the batting order in the eighth over. He made 61 runs in just 26 balls but was out before he could help his team win. After he was eliminated from the game, KKR was unable to recover.

The quick start of CSK in Powerplay

After losing the toss, Chennai Super Kings (CSK ) decided to bat first and got off to a quick start thanks to Devon Conway and Rituraj Gaikwad. Both increased the team’s score during the powerplay to 59 without a defeat. Gaikwad shared a 73-run partnership with Conway before being bowled out by Suyash Sharma after scoring 35 runs in 20 balls.

CSK opener Devon Conway reached fifty for the fourth time in a row in just 34 balls. His seventh fifty in the IPL and fourth consecutive fifty in the competition. After scoring 56 runs in 40 balls, Varun Chakraborty was his downfall. Prior to Kolkata, Conway also reached the fifty-run mark against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Rajasthan Royals.

The explosive alliance of Rahane and Dube

Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dubey accelerated the Chennai innings after Conway’s wicket was lost. Together, they scored 85 runs in just 32 balls. Ajinkya Rahane scored 33 off 11 balls and Shivam Dubey scored 50 off 21 balls in this partnership. After Dubey was fired, this alliance fell apart. Rahane played a perfect 29-ball, 71-run inning.

Rituraj Gaikwad scored 35 off 20 balls, Ravindra Jadeja scored 18 off 8 balls, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 2 off 3 balls for the remaining CSK batters. At 50 runs, Shivam Dubey was removed from the game. Two wickets were taken by Kulwant Khejroliya for Kolkata. Suyash Sharma and Varun Chakraborty each took one wicket, however.

In 20 overs, Chennai scored a total of 235 runs. The biggest score so far this year is this one. The group surpassed Sunrisers Hyderabad’s previous record. After losing the third wicket in the eighth over, Jason Roy entered the crease. He only hit three sixes in the first three balls. Even after Nitish Rana was dismissed in the subsequent over, Roy persisted. He reached fifty in 19 balls and then, using five fours and five sixes, scored 61 runs in 26 balls. Mahish Teekshana bowled him, but he helped his team get back into the game.

2 modifications in Kolkata

David Visa, who replaced Liton Das this season and is from Kolkata, made his debut. In place of Mandeep Singh, Narayan Jagdeesan received a chance. Chennai didn’t alter their roster in any way. Akash Singh from Chennai and Venkatesh Iyer from Kolkata joined the second inning as key players.
