According to a relative, Thatikonda Aishwarya Reddy’s family is working with Telugu NRI organisations in the US and government officials to have her remains returned
One of the eight victims killed in a shooting at a mall in Texas, US, on Saturday has been identified as Thatikonda Aishwarya Reddy, 27, of Hyderabad.
Aishwarya, the daughter of T Narsi Reddy, a district and sessions judge in Rangareddy, had spent the previous five years there. In 2020, she graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a master’s degree in construction management, and she began working as a project engineer for a small business in Texas. Before moving to the US in 2018, she graduated from Osmania University with a degree in civil engineering.

Thatikonda Aishwarya Reddy was doing well in her work and had recently been promoted, according to a cousin in Saroornagar. Her family claims that on the tragic evening, she told her mother Aruna that she was seeing a male friend at the mall when they last spoke. After hearing about the shooting in Dallas, the mother called back but got no answer, and the phone was eventually turned off.
The following morning, a different family member, N Ram Reddy, whose daughter lives in the US, called the regional district officials and hospitals to confirm Aishwarya’s demise. “We have no idea what happened, and we have no desire to discuss anything. According to a family member, “the family is in contact with Telugu NRI associations in the US and government authorities to bring back her body. The parents are in shock.”
Her body is anticipated to arrive at the family’s house on Wednesday.
“The parents’ hearts are broken. Her mother hasn’t been told about the disaster by us. Thatikonda Aishwarya Reddy’s relative predicted that it would take her months to adjust to the unexpected news, even as government representatives, judges, and friends visited her home to comfort her parents.
The last time Aishwarya went home was to attend her older brother Srikanth Reddy’s wedding in December.
The shooting was the most recent incident in the US’s unparalleled wave of mass killings. An internet dashcam footage depicted a shooter stepping out of a car and firing at pedestrians. Authorities claim that a nearby police officer shot and killed him.
